Corrosion Behaviour of a Non-equiatomic CoCrFeNiMo High-Entropy Alloy in H2S-Containing and H2S-Free Environments

The corrosion behaviour of a non-equiatomic CoCrFeNiMo high-entropy alloy (HEA) in H2S-containing and H2S-free environments was studied by electrochemical tests, surface characterization, solution analysis. results showed that the HEA exhibited primary secondary passivation environment, transition owing to enhanced dissolution Fe species. Compared with passive film, Cr/Fe ratio film increased at expense selective Fe. Therefore, resistance decreased applied potential. Cr most stable element HEA, regardless H2S. presence H2S accelerated all cationic elements HEA. promoted formation thicker but less protective induced loss passivity.
